Buckshot Speedway 2025
On Saturday, June 21st, the big rigs raced for the first time at Buckshot Speedway in Clanton, Alabama. The speedway is a 3/8 mile banked oval dirt track. Mid-afternoon on a hot summer day with no rain predicted, it showered. When the rain stopped, the track was prepared for racing. This process was repeated several times, until racing finally started late in the evening after the rains ended.

Caution with lap one. After passing #46, #01 bumped #16, putting both into the wall when passing leaving some debris on track. The right steer tire on #16 went flat, so he moved to the infield. Race restarted without #16.
#01 jumped restarts 1, 2, and 3. On restart 4 #01 tangled with the rear of #51 when trying to pass. Restart 5 was good; #01 retook the lead, but caution for debris on track coming out of turn 4. Note: the outside/highside was considerably drier and more driveable than the inside lane which was still wet.
Restart 6 sees #51 retake lead. #88 becomes part of a 3-wide with #00 and #41 coming out of turn 3 (lap 5); #88 hit the inside wall but continued racing. A few laps later #88 pushes on the #00 back bumper a few times. In lap 12 turn 4 #41 hits #88 hard from the rear pushing the #88 truck into the left rear tires of #00. #88 looked like he might, but never tipped over. The cab filled with white smoke that poured out the windows as he made another trip around the track before pulling into the infield. The radiator was damaged, sending steam into the truck.
Restart 7 began and ended in lap 14 with #51 and #01 tangling in turn 4. #51 went into the inside wall and #01 lost his oil pan spreading a wide trail of oil around the entire track. #51 was towed off. The race was called at lap 14 due to the very late hour and the time needed for track cleanup.
